- Replace plastic trays with cardboard, pulp/cellulose trays
- Reduce your carbon footprint
- Infinitely resealable
This year, despite its COVID-19 challenges, we are prepared for a year of action and reaction, building on the fast-growing trends we have seen in the last few years around sustainable packaging.
We know that developing environmentally friendly food packaging that maintains product freshness, endures temperature changes and remains affordable is not easy. That’s why we have made it our priority over the past few years and have done all the hard work for you.
Today, we are proud to launch our partnership with Smilesys. Our Smile resealable systems are designed to provide ultimate convenience through operational ease and efficiency and consumer-loved usability without sacrificing product freshness and protection.
The multi-award winner Smile 2Lite – the hero of the Smilesys range – is the first resealable, label-free top film for trays made of plastic, cardboard and cellulose/pulp. The top film keeps foodstuffs fresh and crisp to the last bite. It also prevents food waste due to spoilage after opening – without heavy and costly plastic lids or additional packaging and labelling.
From an environmental point of view, the handling volume of raw materials and final packaging as well as plastic consumption and CO2 emissions are significantly reduced – by up to 20%.
Production slowdown? No such thing. The Smilesys film is supplied in reels so it doesn’t slow down the packaging process whilst reducing the storage space required in your warehouse.
Fresh produce is a key area where primary producers currently packing in a clam shell type container are able to move to a base tray only with Smile 2Lite reseal film and simply realize the savings in packaging cost whilst ticking the environmental box with less materials used.
The film can be either traditionally hole punched or even laser perforated to manage respiration rates of different produce types and a tamper evidence seal can also be integrated into the packaging.
So, while we work on developing a future of better packaging, we can help you produce today’s best packaging.
