- rPE 100% recycled synthetic material
- 100% recycled content paper
- Eco-friendly grass paper
HERMA has developed three new recycled label materials designed to help optimize the environmental balance of packaging. These will be showcased on the HERMA Stand# 5C14 at Label Expo.
- rPE Material
Manufactured exclusively from recycled polyethylene, the new HERMA rPE label was developed in collaboration with the printer schäfer-etiketten and Polifilm – PE film experts.
Half of the raw material for the label stock originates from industrial waste, and the other half from the single-use PE commonly discarded by households, typically in the form of plastic bottles and packaging remains.
This novel label material prints very well no matter what the technique, from flexo and offset to screen and digital printing. The material responds well to coating, and the conventional roll sizes can be fabricated without any constraints
- 100% recycled content paper
The new, eco-friendly 100% recycled content paper material is ideal for brands and manufacturers who want their packaging materials to reflect a commitment to sustainability.
- HERMAnature fieno (grass label material)
Made from grass paper, the new label material HERMAnature fieno allows users to apply special sustainability requirements to labels. Offering an earthy and organic look and feel, the grass paper material can be processed like conventional paper and offers very good printability in offset and flexo printing. As the grass originates from domestic compensation areas, logistics expenses are also minimized, resulting in CO² savings of up to 75 percent. Allergen free, the grass paper material features a low-migration adhesive making it ideal for use as food and cosmetics labels.
